Syracuse, N.Y. — Northeastern University is deploying Ensemble Video, an enterprise video content management system developed by Symphony Video, Inc., to help simplify management of video and other rich media used on the university's news portal, http://www.northeastern.edu/news.

We wanted to enhance the viewing experience for students, faculty and alumni, said Ann M. Comer-Woods, director of strategic marketing and brand management for Northeastern University. “We produce a significant amount of rich media content and Ensemble Video gives us a simple and flexible way to publish all of it.”

Ensemble Video’s Web-based interface with intuitive wizards gives content administrators the ability to easily upload, catalog, publish and share their video content, to an unlimited number of Web destinations, without the intervention of media services or IT support.

Ensemble Video’s simple application publishing interface offers Web developers the flexibility to customize the viewer interface with mainstream scripting languages such as Javascript, .Net, PHP and ColdFusion. System administrators can configure Ensemble Video so that users can upload, manage,catalog, publish and share not just video, but any other media type that can be served from an Internet accessible media or Web server.

Northeastern University’s Marketing and Communications Department uses Ensemble Video’s simple publishing API to dynamically infuse video content and slideshows into their news portal, states Andy Covell, the founder of Symphony Video and lead architect of Ensemble Video.

According to Comer-Woods, “Ensemble Video allows students, faculty, and other end users to access files from anywhere and download them to their digital media players.”
